The big truth is: No one has a clue what life actually is! We don’t know any answers to any of the big questions. Who we are? Why are we here? Where did we come from? Yes, people have lots of ideas, theories or beliefs, but nothing is definitive.
What we know is that you are born and after the passing of time you die. That period, when your heart is beating, is called life or living. It can be over in the blink of an eye or last for over 100 years. Its ending can come at any second, to anyone, at any time. No one is exempt from this rule. NO ONE.
Regardless of the fact that we don’t know what life is about and that EVERYONE is basically making it up as they go along. There are some fundamental or essential aspects to it that have to be catered for to enable your survival.
The Essentials For Life
We all need food, air, water and shelter. That’s it. It has been like that since the beginning of the human race and will continue to be like that for the remainder of our existence.
How to provide for these needs will vary according to geographical location and environment. There are still a few places left were living is more traditional but for most of us living requires money, which requires you to find a way of acquiring it.
Ok. So we don’t know what life is, or what we are meant to do with it. But we are bombarded every day with people telling us the answer to it. How best to live your life. Where to find happiness, or salvation. The secrets that will transform it…blah, blah, blah. Look, I can’t stress this enough. It’s all just someone elses ideas or thoughts. People trying to make sense of something that no one has the answer to. Yes, that includes this. Don’t be afraid of thinking something different. Thinking something new. Your own thoughts are equally as valid.
The best way to live your life can only be decided by you. Only you can find out what works best for you. Only you can know what’s in your heart, what makes you happy, what life you want to live.
It’s ok to listen to others to get some ideas. There’s plenty out there after all. Some great, some terrible, some that certainly might help you. But ultimately it’s whatever suits you best. It is your life. Only you can live it. And you can’t live it for someone else. Only yourself. In your own way.
Life is a mirror and will reflect back to the thinker what he thinks into it. – Ernest Holmes
I’m not saying you can’t be an empathetic, caring and considerate soul. I’m not saying you can’t be completely careless either. What I am saying is that it’s up to you to decide what type of person and what kind of life you want to live. It’s up to you to define your purpose. Your reason for existence.
Whatever this thing called life is bear in mind it doesn’t always go according to plan or turn out how you expected. It is a gift waiting to be unwrapped. That unwrapping will last a lifetime. Who knows what it will bring?
Get used to it. Adapt to it. Change is inevitable. But how you react to it can define you! As much as your habits will.
It will we filled with joy and pain, love and loss, darkness and light. Experiences, whether good or bad, with lessons to learn, or not. All yours, to do with as you wish. Yours and no one elses.
So get out there. Get living. Make of it what you will. Chase your dreams, follow your heart, trust your instincts and find your purpose. Be the person you want to be. You’ve only got one life. Make the best of it.
Life is now. There was never a time when your life was not now, nor will there ever be. – Eckhart Tolle
